For researchers who need to report results that are not yet ready by the general abstract submission deadline but may be of interest to the meeting audience, late-breaking provides an opportunity to present these studies during a special session at the ASH annual meeting. The program committee reviews all late-breaking abstract submissions and selects a number of them for presentation. The presenting author of the selected late-breaking abstract will be notified by email no later than March 19, 2025.
The late-breaking abstracts session is an important part of the ASH annual meeting and is often the first time these new results are presented to an audience. These abstracts are selected by the program committee because they have a potential impact on clinical practice.
Authors who submit late-breaking works will have the option to present their work as a poster at the conference or in the virtual environment (either way, a full Conference registration is required). LBWs are semi-archival, and authors may re-use them in other peer-reviewed venues (e.g., they could be reused in a future CHI full paper submission).
An individual can appear as the presenting author on only one late-breaking abstract at any time. If the same person is the presenting author of an accepted scientific or Theme J abstract and also an accepted late-breaking abstract, that latter presentation must be withdrawn from the meeting. If you are submitting multiple late-breaking abstracts, please ensure that your presenting author is different from your other coauthors.
